Product Description

    Remington Rand/Colt M1911A1 .45 ACP WWII (1943) Semi-Auto Pistol - Mixed-Manufacturer, Parkerized, GI Sights, Faux-Stag Grips

This WWII-era M1911A1 pairs a Colt-manufactured receiver with a Remington Rand slide, dated to 1943. It carries clear U.S. military markings including "UNITED STATES PROPERTY," "M1911A1 U.S. ARMY," and the GHD inspector cartouche, along with the REMINGTON RAND INC. / SYRACUSE, N.Y.

U.S.A. slide rollmark. The pistol retains its GI configuration with ordnance steel construction and a parkerized/phosphate matte finish, now fitted with aftermarket faux-stag grip panels and a Colt-marked barrel.

    Condition

Overall Condition: Fair condition, showing extensive signs of prior use and handling.

Bore Condition: Poor - Noticeable dirt, stains, significant corrosion or damage.

Bore Rifling: Poor Rifling - Rifling heavily worn or filled with fouling or debris.

Specific Condition Notes: Scratches and blemishes are present throughout. The finish shows widespread wear and patina, with pitting in some areas. There is a noticeable gap between the grip safety and the mainspring housing. The barrel has a large bulge just ahead of the chamber and is not safe to shoot; a new barrel will need to be sourced and fitted to this frame.

    What’s Included

    • 2x 7-round 1911-pattern single-stack steel magazine with witness holes

This full-size, GI-pattern 1911A1 retains core wartime features: wide spur hammer, fixed GI sights (narrow blade front, square-notch rear), and an arched mainspring housing with lanyard loop. Small controls are checkered/serrated, and the recoil-spring plug face is checkered.

The mixed-manufacturer configuration is clearly documented: a Colt-manufactured receiver beneath a Remington Rand slide, with "COLT .45 AUTO" marked on the barrel hood. Additional inspection markings include the forging/inspection numeral "4" on the right front of the trigger guard.

Both the frame and slide wear a parkerized/phosphate matte finish over ordnance steel. Rollmarks and property stamps are legible, including "UNITED STATES PROPERTY," "M1911A1 U.S. ARMY," the GHD inspector cartouche, and the REMINGTON RAND INC. / SYRACUSE, N.Y. U.S.A.

    slide marking.

The pistol is currently fitted with aftermarket faux-stag grip panels, reflecting a period-style custom touch while preserving the underlying GI layout and controls.

Note: The installed barrel has a pronounced bulge just ahead of the chamber and is not serviceable. A replacement barrel must be sourced and properly fitted before any use.
