What’s Included
- VEB Ernst Thälmann Werke, Suhl Pistole 1001-0 .32 ACP pistol
- One factory 7-round magazine (serialized to match the pistol)
Produced circa 1953–1957, this Pistole 1001-0 reflects the East German police adaptation of the proven PP layout. It uses a fixed-barrel blowback system in .32 ACP and a DA/SA, hammer-fired mechanism that aligns with service-sidearm standards of the era.
Markings are extensive and traceable: DDR acceptance/inspection cartouches, West German Ulm antler and Eagle/N reproofs, and importer marks "CAI ST ALB VT," alongside "HAMMERLI TIENGEN" and "GERMANY." These stamps document its path from East German service pattern through later West German reproof and U.S. import.
The pistol retains its blued steel frame and slide with vertical rear serrations and a serrated anti-glare top rib. Controls include a slide-mounted safety/decocker and a heel-style magazine release. A lanyard ring is mounted at the left rear of the frame/tang behind the hammer.
Sighting is straightforward with a fixed square-notch rear and an integral front blade. Checkered black plastic grips provide a secure hold. Capacity is 7+1, and this example includes a factory magazine serialized to match. The slide, frame, and magazine all bear matching numbers.
