Forged 7075-T6 receivers with Type III hard-coat anodizing, an A2 F-height front sight with a Ruger Rapid Deploy rear sight, and two included 30-round Magpul PMAG GEN M2 MOE magazines set this example apart.

The 16.10-inch barrel is cold-hammer-forged from 4140 chrome-moly steel and uses a versatile 1:8 twist for a wide range of 5.56 NATO loads. It is threaded 1/2-28 and fitted with an A2 birdcage flash suppressor.
This AR-15-platform carbine uses a gas-operated, direct impingement system with a carbine-length gas setup. The pinned A2 front sight base is F-height and elevation-adjustable, and it includes a bayonet lug and sling swivel. The Ruger Rapid Deploy rear sight flips up and is adjustable for windage.
Forged 7075-T6 aluminum receivers wear a Type III hard-coat anodized finish. Functional features include a forward assist, ejection-port cover, and brass deflector. A manual safety selector provides straightforward controls.
Furniture includes a 6-position collapsible stock, a black polymer pistol grip, and two-piece round ribbed polymer carbine handguards made from heat-resistant glass-filled nylon. The rifle uses Ruger’s polymer delta ring/barrel-nut system.
This example was manufactured in Mayodan, North Carolina in 2016 and carries the Ruger phoenix logo and AR-556 model markings on the receiver. Capacity is 30+1, and two 30-round Magpul PMAG GEN M2 MOE magazines are included.
