The Model 57 Levermatic uses a short-throw cam-and-roller lever system with an approximate 25-degree lever throw for fast cycling. It features a side-eject receiver made of alloy that was drilled and tapped at the factory for both a scope and a receiver sight. A gold-colored trigger and blued finish complete the receiver’s presentation.
The 22 in. steel barrel uses Marlin’s Micro-Groove rifling and is paired with a hooded ramp front sight with a bead. The bore condition is excellent, with a clean, mirror finish and sharp rifling.
A fixed tubular magazine under the barrel provides a stated maximum capacity of 17+1 in .22 Short, Long, or Long Rifle. A yellow magazine follower is visible at the loading port for quick status checks.
The walnut-finished, one-piece stock has an uncheckered pistol grip, raised comb, white-line spacer, and a Marlin buttplate. Length of pull measures 13.5 in., giving the rifle a comfortable and balanced feel on the shoulder.
Built in the USA during a production run circa 1959–1965 with fewer than 35,000 produced, this example aligns with pre-1968 manufacturing practices, and no serial number is observed as is typical for this model and era.
