What's Included
- Colt Model 1877 Thunderer .41 Colt revolver with 4.5 in barrel
Chambered in .41 Colt, this Thunderer uses a fluted six-shot cylinder and a double-action/single-action mechanism with an exposed hammer. The solid frame with a right-side loading gate follows the classic Colt layout of the period.
The 4.5 in barrel is paired with fixed sights: a front blade and an integral topstrap rear notch. An under-barrel ejector-rod housing with a bullseye (mushroom) head completes the traditional Colt pattern.
Markings include an acid-etched left-barrel panel reading "COLT D.A. 41," a single-line Hartford barrel address, and Colt patent dates on the left side of the frame. The trigger-guard web is stamped "41 CAL."
Original birds-head, checkered black hard-rubber grips feature Rampant Colt medallions. Matching serial numbers are noted on the butt and internal strap, adding desirable continuity to this example.
Produced in 1883 in the United States, the Model 1877 Thunderer is historically recognized as Colt's first production double-action revolver design, making this antique example a tangible piece of the company's early DA lineage.
