This 1981 Winchester Model 94 John Wayne Commemorative is a limited-edition lever-action chambered in .32-40 Winchester. Condition
Overall Condition: Very good condition, showing only light, superficial signs of prior handling or use.
Bore Overall Condition: Excellent - Clean, mirror finish, no signs of wear.
Bore Rifling: Excellent Rifling - Sharp lands and grooves.
Specific Condition Notes: There is a dent in the tang of the receiver. There is finish loss around the facsimile "John Wayne" signature on the underside of the receiver. The large-loop lever fitment is loose and does not disengage the safety. The stock has several dents. The steel buttplate shows finish wear and scratches.
There is an abrasion on the left-hand side of the barrel.

Produced in 1981, this John Wayne Commemorative Model 94 is part of a limited run of about 49,000 standard units plus 1,000 Canadian-marked examples. The series utilized JW-prefix serial numbering and revived the historic .32-40 WCF chambering specifically for this commemorative.
The receiver wears a satin coin (French gray) finish with factory scrollwork and an engraved stagecoach scene. The underside carries a facsimile "John Wayne" script signature. The barrel is marked "WINCHESTER MODEL 94 .32-40 WIN." and "JOHN WAYNE COMMEMORATIVE," with "Made in New Haven, Conn. U.S.A." proof on the gun.
This pre-Angle-Eject, top-eject Model 94 retains the classic carbine configuration: a round 18.5 inch barrel, a full-length tubular magazine with 5+1 capacity, and iron sights consisting of a hoodless blade front and a semi-buckhorn rear with a step elevator. A large-loop lever and saddle ring complete the commemorative feature set.
The walnut straight-grip stock includes factory checkering and a John Wayne stock medallion, paired with a steel carbine buttplate. The barrel is blued, contrasting with the coin-finished receiver for a distinctive commemorative presentation made in the USA at Winchester’s New Haven facility.
