What’s Included
- Winchester Model 95 Carbine chambered in .30-06
Designed by John M. Browning, the Model 95 uses an internal single-stack box magazine integral to the receiver, allowing safe use of pointed spitzer bullets. This carbine holds 5+1 rounds and is chambered in .30-06, with the barrel marked 30 GOVT-06 as expected for the era.
The carbine configuration includes a 22-inch round barrel secured by a single barrel band, a full-length forearm with one grasping groove per side, and a straight-grip walnut buttstock. A steel carbine buttplate with trapdoor adds period-correct storage capability. No saddle ring is present.
Sights are practical and correct for the carbine: an unhooded front blade on a small ramped base and a barrel-mounted open rear sight with a stepped elevator for elevation adjustments. The receiver and metal parts wear a blued finish, paired with walnut furniture for a classic Winchester look.
Markings include the late-production "Model 95 - Winchester - Trade Mark Reg. U.S. Pat. Off. & FGN." tang legend and a right receiver legend with multiple patent dates and New Haven, Conn., U.S.A.
manufacturer location. These details align with 1920s production and help date this example to 1923.
