The Mark V magnum 9-lug bolt delivers the model’s hallmark strength and a short 54-degree lift for fast cycling. The fluted bolt body incorporates multiple gas ports. Feeding is via an internal box magazine with a hinged floorplate, providing a stated 3+1 capacity. A bolt-shroud mounted safety lever controls the action.
The 26-inch steel barrel uses a sporter contour and is threaded, with a radial-ported muzzle brake installed. The receiver is drilled and tapped and currently fitted with two-piece bases and rings. There are no iron sights. The barrel and receiver wear a classic blued finish.
The synthetic stock is configured with a right-hand Monte Carlo cheekpiece and molded checkering panels at the grip and fore-end for traction. Sling swivel studs are installed, and a Weatherby-marked recoil pad caps the stock. Length of pull measures 13.5 inches.
Markings include "SOUTH GATE, CALIF. MADE IN JAPAN." This example is from the Japanese Howa era of Mark V production, and the H-prefix serial format is consistent with Howa manufacture.
