What’s Included
- J.C. Higgins Model 20 12 gauge pump-action shotgun
- Receiver-mounted adjustable aperture (peep) rear sight (installed)
Store-branded for Sears and produced by High Standard, this Model 20 carries the classic roll mark "SEARS, ROEBUCK & CO." on the barrel. It aligns with the High Standard Model 200 lineage, offering a recognizable and proven action with right-side ejection and a standard-length magazine tube (4+1) that ends well short of the muzzle, with a front cap and a single barrel/magazine ring.
The 28 inch ribless steel barrel is roll-marked for a fixed Modified choke and is paired with a single front bead featuring an orange insert. The receiver top has longitudinal anti-glare serrations to reduce glare in bright conditions. Chambering is 2 3/4 inch, and capacity is 4+1.
A receiver-mounted adjustable aperture (peep) rear sight has been installed, complementing the front bead for a clear sight picture. This setup, combined with the clean bore, supports confident alignment on target.
The shotgun is full-size with a 14.0 length of pull. It wears a wood stock with a pistol-grip profile, cut checkering at the wrist, and a ventilated rubber buttpad. Construction is all-steel with a blued finish on both receiver and barrel. As is typical for pre-1968 production, there is no external serial number visible.
