This Smith & Wesson Model 41 is a late 1970s example with the 5.5 inch heavy barrel and a full-length matte anti-glare rib. It features carbon steel construction with a polished blue frame, a blued slide with rear serrations, and checkered walnut target grips with a palm swell. Target-focused Patridge front and micrometer-adjustable square-notch rear sights, a competition-tuned single-action trigger, and the Model 41 interchangeable barrel system round out a purpose-built .22 LR target pistol. This A-prefix pistol comes with its factory blue two-piece box and one factory magazine.

    What's Included

    • Smith & Wesson factory blue two-piece box with fitted blue foam insert and end label
    • Factory Smith & Wesson Model 41 steel 10-round magazine

The 5.5 inch heavy barrel uses a full-length matte anti-glare rib that reduces glare across the sighting plane. This configuration is the classic heavy-barrel target setup for the Model 41 and does not include a muzzle brake.

The sights are purpose-built for precision: a Patridge front blade and a micrometer-adjustable square-notch rear with click screws to dial elevation and windage precisely.

The pistol operates on a semi-automatic blowback system with a single-action, competition-tuned trigger. Capacity is 10+1 rounds. The Model 41 platform also supports an interchangeable barrel system for configuration changes.

Construction is all carbon steel with a polished blue frame and a blued slide that carries vertical rear serrations. The frame wears the S&W trademark crest and Model 41 markings, and the right side is roll-marked "MADE IN U.S.A. MARCAS REGISTRADAS SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD, MASS." Two-screw checkered walnut target grips with a palm swell provide a stable, ergonomic hold.

Production falls in the 1979–1980 era with an A-prefix serial range. The factory box end label lists the model, finish code "B," and the 5.5 inch barrel, along with later handwritten notations, adding helpful provenance for this example.
