What’s Included
- Sturm Ruger Blackhawk Old Model .357 Magnum revolver
Built on Ruger’s Old Model three-screw lockwork, this Blackhawk retains the pre-1973, pre-transfer-bar design with a frame-mounted firing pin, making it a notable example for enthusiasts of early-production Rugers. The protected rear-sight ears on the topstrap and period-correct rollmarks, including the Southport, Connecticut barrel address, highlight its 1960s manufacture.
Configured as catalog BKH36, it carries a 6.5-inch barrel chambered in .357 Magnum and a six-shot fluted cylinder. The single-action mechanism uses a spurred hammer, and ejection is handled by the classic crescent-style ejector-rod head.
Sighting is via an adjustable rear paired with a ramped front blade. A non-factory orange insert has been fitted to the front sight for added visibility while maintaining the original sight format.
The main cylinder frame, barrel, and cylinder are blued carbon steel, paired with the XR3-RED aluminum-alloy grip frame and an aluminum ejector-rod housing, consistent with late-1960s BKH36 production. The grip panels are smooth walnut with Ruger eagle medallions, completing the period appearance and feel associated with late-1960s Blackhawks.
