Its lever-actuated hinged breechblock and external hammer are hallmarks of the design, paired with a center 6-o'clock extractor for positive case removal.
The 22-inch part-octagon-to-round, tapered barrel carries the "25–STEVENS" caliber marking and is set up with practical open sights: a small brass blade front and an open rear sight with a stepped elevator for elevation adjustment.
Furniture is classic Stevens: a straight-grip wooden buttstock capped by an embossed "STEVENS FAVORITE" buttplate, and a slim wood forearm secured by a single screw with a brass escutcheon. Length of pull measures 12.5 inches.
