The Model 760 uses a pump-action system with a rotating multi-lug bolt that locks into a barrel extension. The barrel is not free-floated; it is secured by a forward barrel band that bears on the barrel, and the receiver is steel. This configuration delivers the familiar Gamemaster handling with robust, proven internals.
Chambered in .308 Win, this rifle features the standard 22-inch barrel length for the Model 760 (not the 18.5-inch carbine). It is equipped with iron sights: a ramped front and an elevation-adjustable rear leaf sight.
The walnut stock has a straight-comb profile with a white-line spacer and plastic buttplate. The fore-end is grooved walnut for positive purchase. Length of pull measures 13.0 inches. A front sling swivel stud is mounted on the barrel band, and a leather sling is included.
The receiver top is drilled and tapped and currently fitted with a one-piece Weaver-style base. Capacity is 4+1 using detachable steel box magazines; two 4-round magazines are included and marked for .308 Win.
Additional features include a cross-bolt safety, blued finish throughout, and United States manufacture. This example dates to the 1957–1967 era and lies within Remington's first Model 760 production block.
