What’s Included

The Model 61’s takedown system uses a large-head receiver screw at the joint, allowing the rifle to separate into two assemblies. The serial number is stamped twice on the underside at this takedown point, consistent with the design.
Its 24-inch round blued steel barrel is paired with an under-barrel tubular magazine featuring a knurled inner-tube cap. Capacity is approximately 14+1. The receiver is hammerless, with right-side ejection and a smooth top without scope grooves.
Sighting is traditional and practical: a dovetailed front blade and a barrel-mounted open rear leaf with a stepped elevator. Barrel rollmarks include "WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL – MODEL 61 – WINCHESTER – 22 S.L. OR L.R.–" and "MADE IN U.S.A. WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN, CONN."
The walnut buttstock has a straight comb with a slight pistol grip and a checkered steel buttplate. A ribbed walnut fore-end provides a positive grip when cycling the action. Length of pull measures 13.25 inches. Overall, the blued steel and walnut configuration delivers the classic Winchester field gun profile.
