This WWI Reproduction is part of Colt’s Custom Shop Carbonia blue finish run, identified by the WMK serial-suffix series honoring Colt CEO Lt. Gen. William M. Keys. Production was limited to approximately 4,000 units, adding clear scarcity to an already sought-after configuration.
It closely mirrors the early 1911 pattern: no A1 relief cuts, a long smooth trigger, a wide spur hammer, a flat mainspring housing with lanyard loop, an un-lowered ejection port, and vertical rear cocking serrations. The slide and frame carry period-correct rollmarks, including "MODEL OF 1911. U.S. ARMY" on the slide and "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" on the frame.
The pistol uses carbon steel for the slide, frame, and barrel, finished in authentic Carbonia blue. It is a full-size 5-inch gun with a 7+1 capacity. Fixed GI sights include a half-moon front blade and a small U-notch rear, with an approximate 6.5-inch sight radius. Double-diamond checkered walnut grip panels complete the early-service look.
Functionally, it follows the original single-action, short-recoil tilting-barrel design with a grip safety. The long, smooth trigger and wide spur hammer reflect the early 1911 feature set and contribute to its faithful reproduction profile.
