Built in the smokeless era, this SAA retains the classic fixed-sight layout with a front fixed blade and a topstrap groove rear. The revolver uses a single-action mechanism with an external hammer and a six-round cylinder, true to the SAA design language of its time.
Factory-style markings include the single-line "COLT PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT.
U.S.A." barrel address on top of the barrel and the three-date Colt patent legend on the left side of the frame. These rollmarks align with 1st Generation production details and provide useful period context.
Key mechanical features include a right-side ejector-rod housing with a full-length ejector stroke for positive case clearance, a beveled loading gate for smooth access, and a knurled hammer spur for secure cocking. The barrel and frame are carbon steel, with the barrel and cylinder blued and the frame color case-hardened.
Original-style checkered black hard rubber grips with the oval Rampant Colt motif complement the revolver’s period finish. Matching serial numbers on the frame, trigger guard, and backstrap further tie the major components together on this 1st Generation example.
