What’s Included
- Krieghoff Drilling combination gun (16 Gauge/9.3x72R)
This three-barrel drilling is configured with twin 16-gauge shotgun barrels over a 9.3x72R rifle barrel, giving it a versatile layout favored for European hunting in the early 20th century. The action is a break-action sidelock with extractors (no ejectors), and a tang selector to engage the rifle barrel.
The 27.5 inch steel barrels wear a matted rib with front sight provision. The rib is paired with a flip-up rear leaf design from the period; the rear sight itself is currently absent, as noted in the condition. Capacity is three.
Stocked in walnut, the gun features a pistol grip, Bavarian cheekpiece, and wrap-around checkering for confident control. A splinter forend with a push-button (Anson/Suhl type) release complements the classic handling, while sling provisions include a front sling eye and a rear sling button inlet. Length of pull measures 15 inches.
Fine scroll engraving decorates the lockplates and receiver, with the barrels retaining a blued finish and the receiver/locks showing a worn case-hardened, coin-gray patina for an understated, period-correct presentation. Made in Germany before World War I, this Krieghoff reflects the craftsmanship and chambering choices—particularly the 9.3x72R—typical of its era.
