What’s Included
- Colt Police Positive First Issue .38 S&W revolver
The First Issue configuration is evident in the half-moon front sight, hard rubber "COLT" grips, unshrouded knurled ejector rod, and the topstrap groove rear sight. The barrel shows the Hartford address with patent dates ending in 1905, and the left side of the frame bears the rampant Colt logo.
It has a 4 inch tapered carbon steel barrel and a blued carbon steel frame, cylinder, and receiver. The revolver uses a rounded butt and includes checkering on both the cylinder latch and the hammer spur for positive control.
This DA/SA design incorporates Colt's Positive Lock hammer-block safety. It uses a swing-out, fluted 6-shot cylinder with clockwise rotation, consistent with early Colt practice.
Chambered in .38 S&W and built in the USA in 1911, this pre-WWI Police Positive offers period-correct features and finish that align with its First Issue series.
