What’s Included
- Weaver flip-over one-piece scope mount with integral rings
This Woodsmaster retains its early-style hardwood furniture with a straight-comb buttstock and a white-line spacer behind a hard black plastic buttplate, paired with an uncheckered fore-end cut with vertical grooves. It wears a blued finish and a 22 in barrel, with open sights consisting of a ramped front blade and a step-adjustable rear sight on a barrel base. Length of pull is 13.0 in.
The receiver is factory drilled and tapped with filler screws installed and accepts the Model 742-specific scope-base pattern, which is not interchangeable with later 7400/Model Four patterns. The included Weaver flip-over one-piece mount with integral rings complements this setup.
.308 Winchester chambering represented approximately 12% of total Model 742 production, giving this example added interest to those seeking this caliber within the platform. The rifle bears the R-in-circle Remington proof and was manufactured in the USA.
No magazine is supplied. As configured, the rifle has a functional capacity of one chambered round. Sights are open, with a ramped front blade and an adjustable rear unit on the barrel.
