What's Included
- Kokura Arsenal Type 38 Infantry Rifle (Long Rifle) chambered in 6.5x50mm Japanese
Built at Kokura Arsenal, this Type 38 long rifle features the classic two-piece hardwood stock with a steel buttplate; the upper handguard is absent. It has two barrel bands; the forward sling swivel is side-mounted and inlet into the stock at mid‑stock, and the rear sling swivel is on the buttstock (no swivel on the barrel band). The intact Imperial chrysanthemum crest and receiver legend "三八式" are present, along with Kokura arsenal and inspector marks that confirm origin and pattern.
The rifle uses a bolt-action system with a rear bolt safety knob and a steel receiver incorporating two gas-relief holes on the ring. It feeds from an internal fixed-floorplate 5-round box magazine, staying true to the standard infantry configuration.
Sighting is via a tangent ladder rear sight paired with a front sight. This long-rifle setup complements the 31.4-inch barrel, providing the sight radius and traditional sight picture associated with the Type 38.
The bore is clean with good, well-defined rifling, aligning with the overall well-maintained mechanical character. A 13.0-inch length of pull and iron-sight configuration round out a historically correct example with desirable Kokura and Imperial markings.
