Ruger Mini-14 180-Series Bicentennial .223 Rem Semi-Auto Rifle, 18.5 in Blued, Threaded Pencil Barrel (1976)
This 1976 Ruger Mini-14 is a Bicentennial-marked, 180-Series rifle featuring the one-year rollmark "MADE IN THE 200th YEAR OF AMERICAN LIBERTY." It is an early, pre-Ranch configuration with the four-screw clamp gas block and a light pencil-profile carbon steel barrel. The rifle retains its classic blued finish over a steel receiver and a smooth hardwood stock, and it comes with two 20-round magazines and one 5-round magazine, including a factory Ruger steel mag.
The 180-Series Mini-14 uses Ruger's short-stroke fixed-piston gas system with a Garand-type rotating bolt and right-side operating rod. This configuration is notable to enthusiasts for its early-pattern gas block and slim, 18.5-inch pencil barrel with a threaded muzzle.
Iron sights include a Garand/M14-style rear aperture with protective ears and a front blade on a banded base, also with protective ears. Controls are true to the pattern with a paddle-style magazine release and a trigger-guard safety in the M1/M14 style.
The hardwood stock has a straight comb and semi-pistol grip with a smooth surface and sling swivels, paired with a black top handguard/heat shield. Capacity is 20+1 with the included 20-round magazines. Length of pull is 12.5 inches.
