Made at Izhevsk Arsenal in 1945, this M44 offers authentic Soviet wartime production details. The barrel shank shows the Soviet state emblem, the Izhevsk triangle-with-arrow arsenal mark, and a clear 1945г date stamp. Assorted inspection and refurbishment proofs are present, and the left side of the receiver/barrel bears the PW ARMS REDMOND WA import mark.
The carbine configuration centers on a 20.25 in barrel and a round receiver, with a straight bolt handle and the Mosin cocking piece safety. It uses a fixed internal 5-round magazine for a 5+1 capacity. Iron sights include a post front sight and a tangent/ladder rear sight with a sliding cursor for elevation.
An integral right-side folding cruciform spike bayonet with a locking collar defines the M44 profile and stows neatly alongside the barrel when folded. Most metal components wear a blued finish; the bolt assembly remains in the white. The hardwood stock features a reddish shellac, a smooth fore-end, in-stock sling slots with metal sling escutcheons, and a steel buttplate. Length of pull is 13.75.
Markings and configuration details align well with an Izhevsk-built M44 of this period. The original Cyrillic serial line is present on the barrel shank. The cleaning rod is installed, and a Mosin-pattern web sling is included. The bore presents a clean, mirror finish with sharp lands and grooves.
