What's Included
- Colt Cobra First Model .38 Special revolver, 2 inch barrel, bright nickel-tone finish
- Smooth white pearlescent grip panels (installed)
The First Model configuration retains the unshrouded ejector rod that characterizes early Cobras. Built on Colt's lightweight D-frame, this example combines an aluminum alloy frame with a steel barrel and six-shot fluted cylinder, all finished in a bright nickel tone for a cohesive appearance.
Its 2 inch steel barrel has a serrated rib and, together with anti-glare serrations on the topstrap, helps reduce glare under light. Fixed sights include a ramped front and a groove cut into the topstrap for the rear, providing a simple, durable sight picture.
The action is double-action/single-action with a smooth-face trigger and an exposed, checkered hammer spur. These controls, paired with the compact frame, offer a classic Colt carry profile from the period.
Factory markings include "COBRA .38 SPECIAL CTG." on the left side of the barrel and "COLT'S PT. F. A. MFG. CO.
HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A." on the right. The left side of the frame bears the Colt prancing pony rollmark, and factory inspection stamps are present below the serial area.
Smooth white pearlescent grip panels complement the bright nickel finish, adding to the revolver's distinctive 1960s presentation while maintaining the Cobra's lightweight, compact character.
