Product Description

Stevens Model 325-C .30-30 Bolt-Action Rifle, 22 in Barrel, Blued, Post-WWII, Predecessor to Savage 340

This Stevens Model 325-C is a post-WWII, U.S.-made bolt-action rifle chambered in .30-30 with a 22-inch carbon steel barrel. It features the distinctive Savage-style grooved barrel nut, a detachable 3-round magazine (3+1 capacity), and factory drill-and-tap at the left-rear receiver for a receiver/peep sight. As the short-run predecessor to the Savage Model 340, it represents a notable transitional design in the Stevens/Savage family.

    Condition

Overall Condition: Fair condition, showing extensive signs of prior use and handling.

Bore Condition: Fair - Generally clean, some residue or smudges, slight corrosion.

Bore Rifling: Fair Rifling - Worn rifling, slight loss of definition.

Specific Condition Notes: A large section of wood is chipped from the bottom of the stock near the buttplate. The rest of the stock shows multiple scratches, dings, and handling marks.

    What’s Included

    • Stevens Model 325-C .30-30 bolt-action rifle
    • 1 detachable 3-round steel box magazine (Stevens 325/340 pattern for .30-30)
    • Bagged buttstock wood chip (toe repair piece)

The Model 325-C combines a 22-inch carbon steel barrel with a blued carbon steel receiver and the recognizable Savage-style castellated barrel nut at the receiver junction. The barrel and receiver are marked with the proof legend "PROOF TESTED CAL. 30-30."

It uses a detachable sheet-metal 3-round box magazine for a 3+1 capacity. The stamped trigger guard and magazine well assembly incorporate a rear lever magazine release, true to the 325-C pattern.

The one-piece hardwood stock has a semi-pistol grip and an oil finish, paired with a steel buttplate. A screw-in front swivel stud is installed in the fore-end stock immediately behind the barrel band with a sling loop attached; a rear sling loop is at the toe of the buttstock. Length of pull measures 14.0 inches.

Sighting provisions include iron sights, with a ramped front blade and accommodation for a rear sight on the barrel or a receiver/peep sight via the factory-drilled-and-tapped left-rear receiver area.

Built in the USA in the post-war era, the 325-C served as the forerunner to the Savage Model 340 during a short production run. Many examples were not factory-serialized, adding to the model’s distinctive place in Stevens/Savage history.
