What’s Included
- Sako L46 Deluxe (m/12) rifle in .222 Rem
- 1x 4-round detachable steel box magazine (Sako L46 pattern)
- Two-piece scope bases installed on the receiver’s integral Sako dovetails
The L46 is Sako’s original small action, and on this rifle it is paired with a detachable single-stack magazine, a distinguishing feature versus later internal-magazine Sako sporters. Capacity is 4+1 in .222 Rem, offering a compact, smooth-cycling platform well-regarded for light varmint cartridges of the period.
The Deluxe (m/12) trim elevates the rifle with factory engraving on the bottom metal, featuring oak leaf and acorn motifs. The walnut stock adds further distinction with a Monte Carlo comb, diamond checkering, a contrasting fore-end tip, sling swivel studs, and a ventilated recoil pad with a white-line spacer.
Its 23.6-inch barrel is marked Bofors Steel, and the bore condition is excellent with sharp rifling and a mirror finish. The receiver is steel with a blued finish and incorporates Sako’s integral tapered dovetail for direct scope mounting; this example has two-piece bases already fitted.
Made in Finland and stamped accordingly, this late 1950s–early 1960s example reflects the high manufacturing standards associated with early Sako sporters. The combination of Bofors Steel barrel, deluxe stock features, and factory-engraved bottom metal makes this a noteworthy L46 variant.
