What’s Included
- Terni Arsenal Modello 1891 Fucile di Fanteria rifle chambered in 6.5 Carcano
Built at the Regia Fabbrica d’Armi di Terni, this M91 long rifle follows the original Italian infantry pattern with a full-length, one-piece hardwood stock and a short handguard around the rear sight. The stock bears an oval arsenal cartouche along with additional inspection impressions, and the receiver is stamped TERNI, providing clear provenance to the Terni arsenal.
The 30.7 inch barrel uses progressive (gain-twist) rifling, a defining technical feature of the Carcano system. The bore is bright and clean with sharp rifling, aligning with the model’s reputation for a refined rifling profile in 6.5 Carcano.
It employs a split-bridge receiver and a Mannlicher-style internal magazine designed for six-round en-bloc clips. The bolt features a straight handle with a round knob, and the safety is bolt-mounted, consistent with the original service configuration.
Sighting equipment includes a folding ladder/tangent rear sight with graduated markings and a front blade. The rifle shows silver/gray metal with brown patina and only traces of original bluing remaining, and retains military furniture details such as left-side sling hardware, barrel bands, and a steel buttplate, reflecting its infantry role and period-correct setup.
