What’s Included
- Izhevsk Mosin-Nagant Model 1944 Carbine in 7.62x54R with integral right-side folding cruciform spike bayonet
Made in the Soviet Union in 1945, this M44 carbine bears the Izhevsk triangle-with-arrow arsenal stamp and Soviet inspection proofs on the barrel shank. The buttstock carries the refurb square-with-diagonal mark, confirming postwar arsenal work typical for service-surplus rifles.
The carbine uses a round receiver with a straight bolt handle and a blued finish. It feeds from a 5-round fixed internal magazine and is designed to be loaded by stripper clip, preserving the platform’s fast, practical service handling.
Sighting equipment includes a hooded front post and a tangent rear sight with sliding cursor, graduated to 1,000 m. The rifle retains its correct two barrel bands and a separate handguard over the barrel. The integral right-side folding cruciform spike bayonet is a defining feature of the Model 1944 configuration.
The full-length hardwood stock wears an amber shellac finish and incorporates a finger-groove fore-end with metal-lined sling slots (oval escutcheons) in the butt and fore-end. Overall length is approximately 40 in with a 20.2" barrel and a 13.0" length of pull, maintaining the compact profile expected of the M44 carbine pattern.
