Made at the Izhevsk Arsenal in 1934, this Model 91/30 uses the earlier hexagonal receiver pattern associated with prewar production. The rifle adheres to standard 91/30 dimensions with a 29 in barrel and approximately 48.5 in overall length, chambered for 7.62x54R.
The stock set is laminated hardwood with a matching laminated handguard, sling slots with metal escutcheons, and a curved steel buttplate. Two spring-retained barrel bands secure the furniture. The rifle retains a blued finish over its steel receiver and barrel, and uses a straight bolt handle.
Sighting is via a hooded front post and a tangent rear sight calibrated to 2000 meters. The rifle employs a fixed internal magazine and a cocking-piece safety, and it is compatible with stripper clips, which are included.
Markings include the Izhevsk arsenal arrow-in-triangle proof and an import mark on the barrel reading "TG KNOX TN 91/30 7.62x54 RUSSIA." Serial numbers reflect typical refurbished mix: the barrel shank is stamped 150580, the bolt and floorplate are EP-marked 150580, the buttplate carries a different number, and the receiver flat shows MH7725; therefore, the rifle is not fully force-matched.
