Colt Frontier Scout F-Series .22 LR Revolver, 4.75 in Barrel, 1960, Duo-Tone Alloy/Blue, Six-Shot SAO
This 1960 Colt Frontier Scout F-Series stands out as an early-production rimfire single action in the classic duo-tone configuration—natural silver/gray alloy frame paired with a blued steel barrel and a cylinder now showing extensive blue loss to a bright gray—in a style offered only through 1961. It features the F-series serial convention, fixed sights, a 4.75 inch barrel, and black checkered grips with Rampant Colt medallions, combining hallmark Colt markings with a compact, micro-size profile.

What's Included
- Colt Frontier Scout F-Series .22 LR revolver
Built in 1960, this F-Series Frontier Scout aligns with the early duo-tone period of production, pairing an aluminum alloy frame in silver/gray with blued steel components. This configuration preceded Colt’s later finish changes and is associated with the F-suffix serial format used on rimfire Frontier Scouts.
The revolver retains iconic Colt identifiers: the prancing pony on the frame and the barrel legend marked "COLT SINGLE ACTION FRONTIER SCOUT 22 L.R." with the Hartford address. Its period-correct fixed sights consist of a ramped front blade and a square-notch rear cut into the topstrap.
Mechanically, it is a single-action-only design with a six-shot fluted cylinder, right-side loading gate, an ejector-rod housing with a front-mounted ejector head near the muzzle, and a knurled cylinder base-pin head just ahead of the frame. The 4.75 inch barrel length gives it a traditional single-action balance in a compact, micro-size package.
Materials and finishes are true to the model: a blued steel barrel mated to a lightweight silver/gray alloy frame; the cylinder’s original blue shows heavy wear and is now largely in-the-white/bright gray. The factory-style black checkered synthetic grips with Rampant Colt medallions complete the classic rimfire Frontier Scout look made in the USA during the 1957–1971 production era.
