Made at FN Herstal under German occupation, this GP-35 was accepted for German service as the Pistole 640(b). The WaA140 inspector code denotes late-occupation acceptance, aligning with the 1944 production year.
Proofs and acceptance marks are present and correctly placed for this variant. The WaA140 stamp appears on the dust cover near the muzzle and on the frame above the trigger. An eagle proof is on the barrel and frame, and the pistol also bears the eagle-over-swastika acceptance marks used on occupation production.
The slide carries the FN legend in French, confirming origin at Fabrique Nationale. This example retains the internal extractor design and the ring hammer associated with wartime production.
Features include a left-side thumb safety, fixed-sight arrangement with a half-moon front blade and small fixed rear notch, and a lanyard ring at the heel. The 4.7-inch barrel and full-size steel frame provide the classic Hi-Power profile and handling.
