A Colt-marked barrel is installed, adding further period-correct interest.

    What's Included

    • 1x 7-round steel 1911-pattern magazine with witness holes (unmarked)
    • Leather belt holster with thumb-break retention strap

Produced in 1944 for the U.S. Army, this Ithaca M1911A1 reflects wartime manufacture with a parkerized finish over forged steel components. The pistol is chambered in .45 ACP and configured in the traditional full-size 1911 pattern with a 5-inch barrel and 7+1 capacity.

It retains classic USGI features such as fixed GI sights (blade front and square-notch rear), vertical rear slide serrations, a wide-spur checkered hammer, and a short GI-style trigger. The arched mainspring housing with lanyard loop and brown checkered plastic grip panels with reinforcing rings complete its period-correct profile.

Military and proof markings include the FJA acceptance stamp and a P proof on the slide. British Birmingham Proof House markings are also present (crown over BNP and crossed-swords/sceptres), indicating the pistol was civilian proofed for the UK market after the war.

The barrel hood is marked "COLT .45 AUTO," identifying a Colt-marked barrel installed in this Ithaca frame/slide assembly. This mix of parts is consistent with the era and aligns with the pistol’s service and post-war history.

Action is semi-automatic with single-action, short-recoil operation. The parkerized slide and frame/receiver match the GI finish scheme, while the fixed sights and grip configuration maintain the original service setup valued by collectors of WWII-era pistols.
