Developed as the semi-automatic counterpart to the Steyr TMP, the SPP reflects the late-1990s evolution of the design that later transitioned to B&T as the MP9/TP9. This example carries clear Austrian origin and GSI Trussville, AL import markings, along with U.S. design references.
The action is a closed-bolt, locked-breech rotating-barrel system, delivering the TMP lineage in a semi-automatic, large-format pistol configuration. Overall length is approximately 12.6 in with a weight of about 2.6 lb, giving it a compact footprint for its platform.
Construction centers on a black polymer clamshell receiver with horizontal ribs and molded sling slots for sling attachment. The 5.1 in steel barrel sits within an extended jacket and is threaded at the muzzle, aligning with the platform’s modularity. The overall black finish is consistent across frame and receiver.
Controls and interfaces include a cross-bolt manual safety and an AR-15-style rear T-charging handle. Open sights are adjustable, with a front post for elevation and a rear square-notch for windage. The detachable steel magazine offers a 15+1 capacity with witness marks at 5, 10, and 15 rounds.
