Smith & Wesson Model 36 No-Dash .38 Special J-Frame, 2-Inch Blued, 5-Shot — 1968–1969, With Factory Box
This late-1960s S&W Model 36 no-dash is a classic J-frame, five-shot .38 Special with a 2-inch barrel and blued carbon steel construction. It comes with its factory two-piece blue box and manual, and features the yoke stamp "MOD. 36" along with period-correct details. A red/orange application on the front sight ramp provides added visibility while keeping the fixed-sight layout intact.
The revolver retains core 1960s attributes such as an unshrouded ejector rod, round-butt frame, color-casehardened hammer and trigger, and the later-style raised/checkered cylinder latch. Checkered walnut Magna grips with silver S&W medallions (no diamond) complete an authentic presentation from this era.

This Model 36 no-dash is stamped "MOD. 36" on the yoke and follows the J-frame, five-shot, round-butt configuration that defined the Chief's Special lineage. Its 2-inch barrel, unshrouded ejector rod, and compact profile make it a true micro-size revolver from the era.
Construction is all carbon steel with a blued finish on the frame, barrel, and cylinder. The hammer and trigger display color casehardening, and the revolver uses the later-style raised/checkered cylinder latch paired with a spurred hammer in a double-action/single-action system.
Sights are fixed iron: a pinned, serrated ramp Baughman-style front blade and a square-notch rear milled into the topstrap. The front sight face has red/orange paint applied for improved front sight visibility while maintaining the factory sight format.
Original-style checkered walnut Magna grips with silver S&W medallions (no diamond) are fitted to the round-butt frame. This revolver was manufactured in the USA in the late 1960s (1968–1969) and includes its factory two-piece blue box with a matching serial-numbered end label and factory booklet.
