This Mauser P.08 Luger is a German Army-accepted S/42 G-Date pistol from 1935 with its period-correct features and markings. It carries the S/42 toggle code, a chamber marked with the "G" date, eagle/63 acceptance stamps, and an eagle firing proof. It retains a standard 4 in (100 mm) barrel, blued finish, two-piece checkered wood grips, and a lanyard loop. Some small parts are non-matching: the sideplate is stamped “40” and the takedown lever “48” rather than the pistol’s “49.” The included aluminum-base magazine is numbers-matched to the pistol.

What’s Included
- Mauser P.08 S/42 G-Date 9mm pistol
- 1x 8-round P.08 Luger magazine with aluminum base and knurled button; numbers-matched to the pistol
The S/42 toggle code identifies Mauser manufacture, while the "G" chamber date denotes 1935 production. German Army acceptance is documented by the eagle/63 stamps, with an accompanying eagle firing proof. These markings align with known features of mid-1930s service Lugers.
The pistol retains its classic short-recoil, toggle-locked Luger mechanism and standard 4 in (100 mm) barrel. It features iron sights with a blade front and a V-notch rear integral to the toggle, a blued finish, and two-piece checkered wood grips. A lanyard loop is fitted at the heel.
Numbered small parts include some mismatches: the sideplate is stamped “40” and the takedown lever “48” (pistol serial 2749; last two digits “49”). The included P.08 magazine has an aluminum base, a knurled button, and is numbers-matched to the pistol, which adds desirable continuity to the set. Magazine is numbers matched.
The bore condition stands out, described as clean with a mirror finish and sharp rifling. Together with the period-correct proofs and configuration, this 1935 S/42 G-Date presents as a strong example of a pre-war Mauser Luger.
