It combines classic Type B Deluxe features with period and later custom work, including double set triggers, a long matted top rib, a refined walnut stock, and a side-swing bolt-shroud safety conversion. A Texan 6X Sniper scope in detachable Weaver mounts and personalized '10H' monogram inlays add distinctive period character.

Specific Condition Notes: The rifle is fitted with double set triggers. The stock has been extended and fitted with a ventilated recoil pad and spacers, and shows minor handling marks and small gouges. A Texan 6X Sniper scope is installed; the scope is damaged, with the front bell drooping downward. A peep sight base is mounted on the left side, but the staff is missing. The bolt handle has been turned down for scope clearance.
The original rear sight has been removed, leaving the rear-sight seat present. A non-original side-swing bolt-shroud safety is installed.

This Type B Deluxe is a commercial large-ring Mauser 98 sporting rifle with controlled-round-feed, cock-on-open action and an internal box magazine with a hinged floorplate for a 4+1 capacity. It is chambered in .30-06, with the chamber marked '30. U.S. G. 1905.' The 24 inch barrel features a long matted top rib, an integral front sight ramp with a square-post blade, a barrel-front sling eye, and a rear-sight seat (rear barrel sight not installed).
The walnut stock presents classic sporting details, including a pistol-grip profile, crisp hand checkering, raised side panels, and a crossbolt for reinforcement. A rear sling eye is in the stock toe. The length of pull measures 14.0 inches due to the extended fit and ventilated recoil pad with spacers. Personalized '10H' monogram escutcheons and a forend medallion add period character.
Triggering is via double set triggers. A side-swing, low-profile bolt-shroud safety conversion is installed, and the bolt handle has been turned down for scope clearance. A peep sight base is mounted on the left side of the receiver; the staff is not present.
A Texan 6X Sniper fixed-power scope with a fine crosshair reticle is mounted in Weaver detachable two-piece rings and bases. The scope body is marked 'TEXAN 6X SNIPER PATENTED.' Note that the scope is damaged, with the front bell drooping downward.
