The W-104 variant combines traditional Western lines with practical DA/SA operation and a swing-out cylinder, a distinguishing feature within the Double-Nine family. Its cylinder release is uniquely actuated by pushing the under-barrel ejector-rod housing, a hallmark mechanism of this series.
This revolver is built with an aluminum-alloy frame with a black anodized/painted finish, paired to a blued steel barrel and blued steel cylinder. The nine-shot fluted cylinder offers ample capacity for a rimfire wheelgun while maintaining the model’s characteristic profile.
Sighting is straightforward and durable, with a fixed half-moon blade front and a square-notch rear. The 5.5 inch barrel provides a balanced sighting plane for the .22 LR chambering.
Factory rollmarks include HI-STANDARD, DOUBLE-NINE with the longhorn motif, and HIGH STANDARD MFG. CORP. HAMDEN, CONN. U.S.A., tying this example to its U.S. manufacture during the 1960s–early 1970s production period.
Two-piece wooden grip panels complete the classic presentation.
