Uberti Remington New Model Army .44 Cap-and-Ball Revolver, 8 in Octagonal Barrel, Western Arms Santa Fe Import
This Uberti-made reproduction of the Remington New Model Army (often called the 1858) is a .44 caliber, six-shot cap-and-ball revolver with an 8 in octagonal barrel. Imported by Western Arms Corp. of Santa Fe, New Mexico, it features Italian Gardone proof marks and clear import markings that speak to an early U.S. import run. It combines a solid topstrap frame with traditional fixed sights, a bright in-the-white steel barrel with a blued cylinder, and a color case-hardened frame and hammer.
Built in Italy with steel frame, barrel, and cylinder with a brass trigger guard, this revolver has the classic Remington profile, a standard loading lever, and safety notches between chambers. It is outfitted with a brass trigger guard and two-piece smooth walnut grips, maintaining the traditional aesthetics of the original pattern while offering reliable modern manufacture.

Uberti's take on the Remington New Model Army preserves the strong topstrap frame design and fixed-sight layout, paired with an 8 in octagonal barrel for the classic silhouette and balance. The single-action percussion lockwork is true to the original pattern and uses standard nipples on the cylinder for cap ignition.
Western Arms Corp. Santa Fe, N.M. import marks and Italian proof stamps (including the PN black-powder proof and Gardone Val Trompia marks) are present. These markings document its import history and Italian manufacture, useful information for identifying production and distribution lineage.
The revolver presents a mixed finish: the barrel shows bright in-the-white steel, while the cylinder and loading lever retain a dark blued finish; the frame and hammer display color case-hardening, and the trigger guard is brass. Two-piece smooth walnut grips complete the period-correct look and feel.
Functional features include safety notches between chambers, a fixed front post paired with a topstrap notch rear sight, and the standard underbarrel loading lever assembly. Chambering is .44 cap-and-ball with a six-round cylinder capacity.
