Oval proof marks appear on the barrel and receiver ring, and the rifle retains its traditional top-eject, right-side loading gate, and full-length tubular magazine.

The receiver is drilled and tapped for a receiver-mounted sight and is currently fitted with a Lyman aperture rear sight. The rear barrel sight dovetail is filled with a blank, while the front is a ramped sight for a clean sight picture.
