What’s Included
- Winchester Model 1886 Takedown rifle chambered in .33 WCF
Chambered in .33 Winchester, this Model 1886 is configured as a factory takedown with Winchester’s interrupted-joint collar, allowing the barrel and magazine assembly to separate from the receiver for compact transport and storage. The button (short) magazine provides a listed 3+1 capacity.
The 24 in round Nickel Steel barrel is stamped 'NICKEL STEEL BARREL ESPECIALLY FOR SMOKELESS POWDER' and '33 W.C.F.'—a desirable pairing for this caliber and period. Sighting is by a ramped bead front and an open rear sight with elevator, consistent with Winchester’s sporting setup of the era.
Stocking is classic and comfortable: an English-style straight-grip, checkered walnut stock with a shotgun-style butt. The buttplate is black hard rubber with the Winchester logo, complementing the rifle’s early 20th-century configuration and feel. Length of pull measures 13.25 in.
Markings include the upper tang legend 'MODEL 86 WINCHESTER TRADE MARK REG. IN U.S. PAT. OFF.' The serial number is present on the lower tang. Made in the United States, this 1920-production 1886 retains the features collectors look for in a late-production, smokeless-era example.
