This 1967 Colt Government Model is a commercial, pre-Series 70 .45 ACP 1911 with its classic blued finish featuring polished flats and matte rounds. It retains hallmark pre-70 characteristics including a solid barrel bushing and an unlowered ejection port, with a C-suffix commercial serial format and a barrel hood marked 'COLT .45 AUTO'. What’s Included
- Colt Government Model Pre-Series 70 pistol
- One 7-round 1911 single-stack steel magazine
As a pre-Series 70 commercial Government Model, this pistol reflects the late M1911A1 pattern as Colt offered it in the 1960s. Its solid (non-collet) barrel bushing, unlowered ejection port, and GI-pattern left-side thumb safety and grip safety keep it true to period configuration. The C-suffix commercial serial format and 'COLT .45 AUTO' marking on the barrel hood further align it with factory-correct features from this era.
Construction is classic Colt: a carbon steel frame and slide finished in blue with polished flats and matte rounds. The full-size profile uses a 5-inch barrel and single-stack magazine, delivering the standard Government Model form that enthusiasts expect.
Controls and ergonomics follow the M1911A1 standard, including a short trigger with A1 relief cuts, an arched, vertically serrated mainspring housing, and a spur hammer. Rear cocking serrations with a vertical pattern are present on the slide for a traditional handling feel.
Sights are fixed, with a staked front blade and a small rear notch, consistent with period commercial Colts. Capacity is 7+1 with the included single-stack magazine, and the pistol operates in single-action with manual thumb and grip safeties.
