What’s Included
- Savage Arms Model 101 single-shot .22 LR pistol
This Model 101 captures the revolver look with a fluted, cylinder-shaped body while operating as a single-shot pistol. The barrel, cylinder shell, and ejector assembly swing out to the right for loading and extraction, and an integral ejector speeds removal of spent cases.
Construction pairs a die-cast zinc-based alloy frame with steel barrel and steel breech/lockwork components, with a blued finish, matched to a 5.5 inch barrel for steady sight alignment. Sighting is straightforward and durable: a half-moon blade front and a fixed square-notch rear integral to the top strap. The external spurred hammer and single-action-only operation provide a crisp manual cocking cycle.
Original grip panels are two-piece wood with embossed (pressed) Savage Indian Head logo, adding classic brand detail. The barrel address reads "SAVAGE ARMS CORP., CHICOPEE FALLS, MASS. U.S.A." and the serial number is stamped on the butt.
Designed by Robert L. Hillberg and produced in the United States circa 1960–1968, the Model 101 saw a reported total production of around 54,000 units. Chambered in .22 LR with a 1-round capacity, it offers a distinctive mechanical layout and period-correct styling that appeals to collectors of mid-century Savage arms.
