Manufactured by Fabrique Nationale (FN) in Belgium in 1968, this Sweet Sixteen uses the classic long-recoil operated Auto-5 action with an external magazine cut-off lever. Capacity is 2+1. The serial number carries the S prefix, identifying it as the Sweet Sixteen variant.
The 25.5-inch steel barrel features a plain profile with a matted sighting plane, a single front bead, and a fixed cylinder choke. It is chambered for 2 3/4 inch 16 gauge shells, aligning with the model’s traditional configuration.
The blued steel receiver shows light factory scroll engraving on the flats and top, adding a period-correct touch without overwhelming the classic A5 lines. The overall finish is blued throughout.
Furniture includes a walnut fore-end and a hand-checkered walnut stock with a flat (square)-knob pistol grip and Browning Automatic buttplate. Length of pull measures 14.25 inches. The gold-colored trigger is a distinctive Browning detail.
