The Smith & Wesson Model 4006 is a full-size, all-stainless, Third Generation .40 S&W pistol with a DA/SA action and ambidextrous slide-mounted safety/decocker. Built with a matte bead-blast finish and fixed, low-profile sights, it represents the early .40 S&W era and saw broad U.S. law-enforcement use, including with the California Highway Patrol. This example is well cared for, includes five magazines and a holster, and has an excellent bore.

Designed as a duty-grade sidearm, the Model 4006 features an all-stainless slide and frame with a matte bead-blast finish. The frame is marked "MOD 4006," and the barrel hood is marked ".40 S&W," underscoring its purpose-built design for the cartridge introduced in 1990.
The DA/SA trigger system pairs with an ambidextrous slide-mounted safety/decocker, a firing-pin block, and a magazine disconnect safety. The exposed spurred hammer provides positive control for manual cocking when needed.
Sights are fixed and low-profile, with a front blade and a rear notch for a clear, consistent sight picture. The checkered front strap and squared trigger guard support a steady hold.
The full-size grip uses a one-piece wraparound black textured Xenoy panel, enhancing purchase on the pistol’s robust stainless frame. A 4-inch barrel balances handling and velocity, and this model does not have an accessory rail.
Chambered in .40 S&W with an 11+1 capacity, this pistol comes with four 11-round magazines and one 10-round magazine. The bore condition is excellent, complementing the overall well-maintained state of the firearm.
