This 3rd Generation Signature Series revolver is a factory-licensed reproduction from the 1994–2002 era, capturing the key details of the original 1851 pattern in .36 caliber. It uses a percussion cap-and-ball system and a 6-shot cylinder, operated by a single-action mechanism. The 7.5-inch octagonal barrel bears the period-correct top-flat stamp, "ADDRESS SAML COLT NEW-YORK CITY."
The frame and receiver have a color case-hardened finish, complemented by a blued barrel and cylinder. A round trigger guard is paired with bright-plated trigger guard and backstrap components, with Samuel Colt’s script signature engraved on the backstrap. One-piece walnut grips complete the classic profile.
The cylinder is roll-engraved with the naval battle scene and marked "COLTS PATENT." Sighting is traditional and fixed, with a brass bead front sight and a hammer-notch rear. Matching serial numbers are observed on the frame, trigger guard, backstrap, and cylinder.
This example lacks London proof marks, confirming it is not a London model.
