Receiver manufacturing in 1945 places this rifle in the WWII era, paired with the classic .30-06 chambering, 24-inch barrel, and 8-round capacity. The gas-operated system with a rotating bolt and right-side operating rod reflects the standard infantry configuration noted.
The sighting setup includes an aperture rear sight with windage and elevation knobs (T105E1-style, no lock bar) and a wing-protected front blade, providing a durable, service-style sight picture consistent with later updates.
The rifle wears a Parkerized finish over a steel receiver and comes stocked in hardwood with two-piece hardwood handguards. A checkered steel buttplate with trapdoor is fitted, and the length of pull measures 13.0 inches.
Service hardware includes the valve-type gas cylinder lock screw, a low-wood operating-rod relief cut, a bayonet lug, stacking swivel, and front sling swivel. These features align with the standard infantry pattern described.
Provenance includes a CMP Certificate of Authenticity dated April 2, 2019, along with a CMP-branded hard case and an installed leather M1907-style sling, supporting the rifle’s documented status within the CMP program.
