The P-11 uses a locked-breech, short-recoil system with a double-action-only, hammer-fired mechanism. It features an internal spurless hammer, no manual safety, and a left-side push-button magazine release. The trigger pull is approximately 9.0 lb, and the design was engineered to meet SAAMI drop-safety criteria.
Construction centers on durability and light weight: a 4140 steel barrel and slide pair with an internal 7075-T6 aluminum receiver housed in a black polymer grip frame. The grip is checkered for control. Markings include "MADE IN USA, KELTEC CNC INC COCOA FL."
Dimensions favor concealability while retaining double-stack capacity. The barrel length is 3.1 in, overall length is 5.6 in, height is 4.3 in, width is 1.0 in, and the unloaded weight is approximately 14 oz. Standard capacity is 10+1 rounds.
Sight configuration is a clear 3-dot setup: a front blade with a single white dot and a square-notch rear with two white dots. The slide has rear cocking serrations with a slanted pattern. The P-11 accepts S&W 59-series pattern magazines when used with appropriate grip sleeve adapters. This model is discontinued, having been introduced in 1995 with retirement announced in 2019/2020.
