The HS410 Home Security configuration is built on Mossberg’s small-frame 500E platform in .410 Bore. It uses an aluminum alloy receiver with right-side ejection and dual action bars for smooth cycling. The top-tang safety is ambidextrous and easy to access from either hand.
The 18.5 inch steel barrel is marked "18 1/2 IN. HOME SECURITY" and ends in a ported, vented muzzle section. It is cylinder bore (Cyl Bore), making it a straight, unchoked tube suited to defensive loads. A single brass bead serves as the front sight; there is no rear sight.
This shotgun is chambered for both 2.5 inch and 3 inch .410 shells, offering flexibility with defensive or field loads. Capacity is 4+1, and the magazine tube uses a knurled end cap for straightforward disassembly and maintenance.
Furniture includes a matte black polymer pistol grip installed and a vertical pistol-grip fore-end for solid purchase while pumping; the original synthetic shoulder stock with recoil pad is included but not installed. The steel barrel and magazine tube are blued, and the aluminum receiver wears a matte black anodized finish. The gun was made in North Haven, Connecticut, USA.
