The standout feature is the E.R. Shaw Custom fluted bull barrel, measuring 18 inches and finished with a plain crowned muzzle. The barrel is marked .17 HMR and also bears the maker’s caution: "Unfired rds may not always eject." There are no iron sights installed.
The original receiver is rollmarked "RUGER – MODEL 10/22 CARBINE – .22 WIN. MAG. R.F.," reflecting its start as a 10/22 Magnum. The conversion to .17 HMR was executed via the E.R. Shaw barrel, providing a clear and documented caliber change on the components themselves.
This rifle operates on the 10/22 Magnum’s semi-automatic blowback system and uses the Ruger 10/22 Magnum-pattern detachable rotary magazine. Capacity is 10 rounds, and one 10-round magazine is included.
Optics are ready to use out of the box with a receiver scope base, rings, and the installed VISM P4 Sniper 3-9x42 scope. The scope offers 3-9x magnification with a 42mm objective and the P4 Sniper reticle, providing a practical sighting solution for the .17 HMR chambering.
The rifle wears a hardwood stock with a smooth, uncheckered straight comb and a black carbine buttplate. Length of pull measures 13.5 inches. The build was made in the USA and dates to 2002.
