The No. 20 features a solid-top receiver with side ejection, an exposed hammer, and a blued steel finish. Its 23-inch octagonal barrel and walnut furniture deliver the characteristic Marlin pump-rifle profile, with a straight-grip stock capped by a steel crescent buttplate and a grooved walnut slide handle.
This model uses a takedown system secured by a large knurled screw on the left side of the receiver, allowing convenient separation for transport or maintenance. It feeds from an under-barrel tubular magazine with a removable inner magazine tube, rated for 15 rounds of .22 Short, 12 of .22 Long, or 11 of .22 LR.
