Product Description

Remington Model 12-A Standard Grade .22 LR Pump-Action Takedown Rifle, 22 in Barrel, Steel with Gray Patina, Walnut

This Remington Model 12-A Standard Grade is a classic American .22 LR pump-action rifle from the 1909–1936 era, featuring a takedown receiver, side ejection, and a 22-inch round steel barrel. It shows extensive finish loss: the receiver and much of the barrel and magazine tube are in-the-white/gray patina with only small remnants of the original blue in protected areas. It wears a straight-grip walnut stock with a grooved walnut fore-end. The bore is clean with good rifling, and the rifle includes period-correct details such as the "REMINGTON UMC" metal buttplate and traditional open sights with a step elevator.

The under-barrel tubular magazine with a knurled inner-tube cap provides a typical capacity of about 10+1 in .22 LR, with barrel markings noting compatibility for .22 Short, Long, or Long Rifle. An "RW" stamp appears above the serial area, and the barrel is marked "MODEL 12-A" and "Remington Trade Mark .22 SHORT, LONG OR LONG RIFLE."

    What’s Included

    • Remington Model 12-A Standard Grade .22 LR pump-action rifle

The takedown-style receiver uses a large slotted side screw, allowing the barreled assembly and receiver/stock assembly to separate for storage and transport. The action is hammerless and side-ejecting, combining a compact profile with quick follow-up capability typical of pump .22 rifles of its period.

The 22-inch round steel barrel is paired with open sights: a bead/blade front and an open rear with a step elevator for coarse elevation adjustment. The barrel markings clearly identify the model and the intended rimfire cartridges, reflecting the rifle’s versatile .22 chambering.

Furniture consists of a straight-grip walnut stock and a grooved walnut fore-end. The metal buttplate is embossed "REMINGTON UMC," a period hallmark on these rifles. Length of pull measures 13.0 inches.

Construction is all steel. The original blue has largely worn, leaving a gray patina on the receiver, barrel, and magazine tube with small remnants of blue in protected areas. Additional details include an under-barrel tubular magazine with a knurled inner-tube cap and typical capacity of about 10+1 in .22 LR. An "RW" stamp above the serial area and U.S. manufacture tie it to the longstanding Remington production lineage from 1909–1936.
